The Marina, which is more than 3 km long and located in the center of “New Dubai,” is surrounded by a wide, landscaped promenade that is popular with cyclists, joggers, strollers, and people on foot. There are many eateries and cafes along the waterfront where you can sit at dusk and watch the nearby skyscrapers start to light up to create an amazing backdrop as the evening dinner cruises sail out to sea.

The Marina is surrounded by 200 or so skyscrapers, 90% of which are residences, including Princess Tower, the tallest residential structure in the world. It is easy to understand why the Dubai Marina district is the most densely populated neighborhood in the nation and such a vibrant community when you consider the 40 Jumeirah Beach Residence towers that can accommodate 15,000 residents.

The Marina has a dedicated shopping center with over 130 stores, a supermarket, and a six-screen movie theater. Some numerous hotels and clubs are hopping at night, and during the day you can charter a boat, go on a tour, or take one of the frequent ferries to Dubai’s ancient Deira district.

This location is well-liked by both singles and young families, much like Jumeirah Lake Towers beyond the Marina.

TRANSPORTATION AND ACCESS

The length of car commutes

The drive to Dubai Mall, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and The Walk JBR all take about 20 minutes from Dubai Marina. The Burj Al Arab is 19 minutes away by car.

Vicinity of the airport.

The new Al Maktoum International Airport is about 32 minutes away by car, while Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about 45 minutes away.

Accessibility via the road.

The Marina is directly adjacent to the main north-south thoroughfare that runs through Dubai, connecting it to all other areas of the Emirate and to Abu Dhabi, which is about an hour’s drive away.

Using a public transportation system.

The Marina is a neighborhood where owning a car is not required, in contrast to many other parts of Dubai. With two stations on the metro that circle the entire city, it is particularly well served by public transportation. It takes 15 minutes to drive to the Mall of the Emirates, 30 minutes to the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa, and just under an hour to get to the airport.

The tram system has made it easier for locals to get around quickly and easily by reducing traffic congestion near the marina.
